Capturing the Culture & Character of NYC - $2895

April 23rd – 27th 2012

Join Jim Steinberg and Arizona Highways Photo Workshops for a unique photographic journey through the neighborhoods, cultures, and characters that are the heart of New York City.  From a private backstage theatre tour in Midtown Manhattan to a game of eight-ball at the corner pool hall; from munching on a slice at Lombardi’s to capturing the cityscape from beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, you will record the sights (and perhaps even convey the sounds and smells) of this vibrant city under the watchful eye of one of America’s leading photographic instructors. This workshop offers you a wide array of nature, environmental portrait, street, architectural, documentary and macro photographic opportunities as well as iconic images of The City That Never Sleeps. With the Crossroads of the World as your classroom and a seemingly infinite selection of subjects, you will create images that reflect both the magic of this metropolis and your own perspective and style.

Colorado Wildflowers in the Rockies Workshop
july 21st – 26th 2012

Celebrate summer and capture its vivid colors in the beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado area.  Long time Steamboat resident, Jim Steinberg, will be your guide. Jim is an award winning photographer and highly regarded workshop instructor. This hands- on- workshop combined with Colorado high country wildflowers in full bloom is the perfect setting for our instructional field sessions.

With Jim’s exhaustive knowledge of the area he will lead you to hidden valleys and glens to compose incredible shots of Colorado’s abundant and stunning wildflowers while in their full summer glory.  The tapestry of intense purple Alpine Columbine and Forget Me Not, vivid orange Paintbrush and yellows of Alpine Sunflower and Buttercups are the perfect study of color and form.

Our workshop will take you beyond the basics with valuable critique sessions and lectures.  You will learn color theory, how to make the most of natural light and the tips and tools professional nature photographers use to create their best work.

Small group size will ensure your questions are answered and that you have the opportunity to photograph alongside Jim. Enroll early, as we limit the size of our workshops for the participants overall experience. Come celebrate summer with us and learn valuable tips on how to photograph the full vibrancy of the summer season in the beautiful Steamboat Springs area
