This lovely pattern was eye-catching at the Yampa River Botanic Park in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Whether your eye comes in from the left, right or the bottom corners, you are drawn to the center where you find a nice patch of yellow and then your eyes are off to view ...

Standing among Mellon Creek in Las Animas County, Colorado where the sun has just gone down. I was able to catch all of the light bouncing off the clouds as the sun was disappearing for the night. It was amazing to get such warm colors in the water that complimented ...

If you didn't immediately notice, this is a close-up of the church gates to the El Santuario de Chimayó (pictured in my previous post). The placement of the sun created a nice, soft lighting on the texture of the adobe walls, which translates into a warm, welcoming feel. .

On our way up from Espanola to Taos we passed El Santuario de Chimayó, a Roman Catholic church in Chimayó, New Mexico. This beautiful church is a national historic landmark, famous for its founding and for being a contemporary pilgrimage site with nearly 300,000 visitors per year. I captured this ...
