As always, it is the people we meet along the way that make the biggest difference in our travels. This week, we share with you just a few of the faces we met in Havana, Cuba.

Precision is everything to the man behind the clippers. This barber looks quite focused while perfecting his client’s new look. On the other hand, it seems like the customer is afraid to even crack a smile in fear of messing up his fresh cut.
The faint sign of animal tracks in the fresh, white snow of the Uncompahgre National Forest, Colorado. Who was here, and for how long? The mystery we are all dying to know.

Our take: The downward plunge of these four sparrows, in perfect formation, as they descend down to the waters of South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Ain’t nobody going to stand in their way! https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/descent/
Here we have two beautiful lionesses posing elegantly in front of a vibrant rainbow in Kenya, Africa. The light of the rainbow filling the sky with a myriad of colors.
The sun radiates upon the Busanga Plains of the Kafue National Park in Zambia, Africa and welcomes in the new day with a bright red sky. It is almost hard to see, but when you look closely through the mist, you can make out the silhouettes of animals feeding among the sunrise. https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/dreamy/
Just below the San Juan Mountains, Colorado we see the tranquility beneath the mountain. The sun is shining on Mother Nature’s beauty, filled with trees, bush and wildflowers. The picture creates a peaceful image of Ouray County.
At 750 square kilometers the Busanga Plains dominate the northern portion Kafue National Park, Africa’s oldest and largest national park. Under water for 7 months of the year, the plains are only accessible during the dry season as the water recedes and the wildlife compete for ever dwindling resources of food and water. And there is no better way to see this than from a hot air balloon where the warren disappearing of channels of the Lufupa River is readily apparent. Here 2 pods of hippos (Hippopotamus amphibius) are seen working upstream in the early morning.
Dinner tonight was delayed due to an elephant who decided to have hers from a tree between the kitchen and the dinning area. Not something we usually encounter! We have had a young male leopard (Pantherapardus) spending his evenings just outside our tent serenading us with his song, so it was not very difficult this morning to follow his tracks and find where he had gone for breakfast. When we found him he was just on his way down this tree to once again greet us.
This overwhelming beautiful scene of Lamberts Locoweed (Oxytropislambertii) blooms seem to go on for miles in the Arapahoe National Recreation Area of the Colorado Scenic River Byway. It is like a flowing see of purples and greens leading the way to the hint of sky and peaks of the mountain range in the distance.
While in Maasai Mara National Reserve, in Narok County, Kenya, we spotted this little Hyena pup curiously staring at us. I like to think that he’s giving us a bit of a smile for this photo.
Well, the solar generator is repaired and operational once again, so as we prepare for the long journey home we give you one last post from location. Watching hippos (hippopotamus amphibius) run with their long stout bodies and short little legs can be quite amusing, as long as they are not running at you, as they can move at up to 30km an hour! This young fellow in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia had become separated from the remainder of his pod and upon finding them was running to catch up while taking this hitch-hiking Yellow Billed Oxpecker (Buphagusafricanus) along for the ride.
Through the mist and the early morning light, the farms of Holmes County are barely even visible; most of which belong to the Amish. The pink/purple hue of the sunrise welcomes the morning among the rolling hills in Amish Country. The colors, textures and effects of the morning fog really make for an inspiring and serene photo.
Because of the trees lining the banks of the water, this river channel in Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia, Africa looks just like it is nestled within a picture frame. The fallen branch in the foreground of the picture sits as the bottom of the frame while the arching branches of the upright trees
Always a big fan of the vast Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park, Zambia. This aerial shot of the Dambos at sunrise provides such a tranquil and serene feeling.
